I did the unthinkable

No, not THAT "unthinkable", you gutter brains! I kinda-sorta lied. Granted, it wasn't an intentional lie. Rather, I thought I was leaving this blog behind for Tumblr, but I just can't stay away. Instead, I'll be making this particular site a more focused and coherent vehicle to share my thoughts on a variety of things. Therefore, there will be fewer "personal" pieces, and more dealing with actual news (entertainment, political, world, etc..). Cheer up though; if you happened to like the personal stuff (which I doubt, given that there weren't too many readers to begin with... but I digress), shoot me an email! If you seem normal enough in it, I'll keep in touch via Tumblr or whatever.

Randomisms 101: Introduction/Lesson 1

My life is random. I know it; my family knows it. Heck; even my dog knows it. That mundane, repetitive existence you have going on over there? That routine that gets you through the day week month year and decade? Yeah; that one. Well, it hinders me. In fact, it pains me! Life is meant to be filled with joy, not order! Don’t get me wrong; chaos is very much unnecessary. However, the way of the random is absolutely required. So, what am I going to do to help you realize the error of your ways, and in turn realize that what you’ve been shunning as “weird” and “scary” is pretty darn fun? Well, I’m glad you asked. What I’m going to do is teach you, step by step (day by day!) in the fine art of Randomism.

  • RHYMEISM
Often times, people seem to naturally stumble in a rhyming sentence or two… or three… or ten. Our natural instinct is to stop the rhyme, and ultimately keep it to ourselves. What is my take on this (rather) unnecessary action of rhyme killing? STOP IT. Own your rhyme! Not only is it indescribably fun to speak in such a way, but it could make another’s day (I rhymed; you smiled; admit it)! Just imagine the way you feel when someone talks to you and “accidentally” rhymes. Personally, I become giddy and get a genuine, feel good smile and laugh out of it. Now put yourself on the other side of that rhyme. Picture the pure and utter satisfaction of knowing that YOU made someone else feel that way, through just the power of your word (and wit).

  • Song Acquisitioniism
So let’s build even further on the pattern of speech modification. Aside from rhyming, another randomism is to incorporate song lyrics into your everyday vernacular. This one is much trickier than the rhyming method; to effectively utilize it, the speaker MUST know the lyrics very well, and under no circumstances can the melody of the song become apparent to listeners. Furthermore, it is detrimental that the lyrics not be recited as a poem would be. A good practice lyric can be found in the song “Distance and Time.” Make it work.

  • Oh Observationism
On a final note, we (I) will address what you say and don’t say about your surroundings. Everyday, we (I) as people (myself) see things that just aren’t quite right. Generally, we (you) say nothing about them, filing them away into our (your) own little memory bank within our (your) heads. Solution: if you see something that makes you raise one eyebrow, speak on it, whether it be to the guy (or gal) sitting next to you or your cronies via text message. The bonus in saying it to a nearby people (yeah I said “a people.”) is that they are more than likely witnessing the exact same oddity as you are. Prime examples: middle-aged male English professor comes to (the first day of) class wearing red skinny jeans, black Converse’, and a black, Steve Jobs-esque t-shirt. What do I do? Whip out the cell phone, and text, Facebook, and Twitter everyone I know. Another example: random squeaking noise echoes through class for nearly five minutes. The girl next to me looks around nervously, as if she has lost her mind. Partially to ease her worry, partially to ease mine, I look at her and make the strangest “What the crap is that” face I can muster on a Wednesday. By voicing our concerns about these observations, the weird oddnesses can serve as ice-breakers (or makers) and earn you some “random” stripes.

So, little monkeys; what have we learned? RHYME (it can never go wrong; just don’t force it. Let it flow. RECITE (not really, but you know what I mean… the song lyric one…) and QUESTION (your surroundings). Next lessons will deal with dealing with your environment!

Three months to the day...

In Sacramento now. Diggin' it quite a bit, surprisingly. I literally JUST got the urge to throw a birthday party. Strange, no?

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

So I haven't posted here in a while...

How goes it? What's good in the hood? The move to the dorms of Sac State is drawing nearer and nearer. I'm really quite excited by it all, tbh. I feel like a completely new era (Xtina reference) of my life is about to jump off. And for that, I and ECSTATIC.

On the new music front, I am completely in love with Sia. Can't wait for Xtina's new album and then I hear that AKeys has a new album coming out in the Fall too! Oh man oh man... getting ready for the take over by my two music icons....

Can't wait

I keep listening to all my Xtina material, waiting for something to to leak or be released. I CAN'T WAIT ANYMORE!

Mobile post.... numero uno! From my Android powered G1, no less!!

1 Month Later...

Still not dead. I'm thinking about adding my pal Vince as a contributor to the site; he's up on the R&B/Soul music front. Then I'd need to find someone to contribute for Pop music (Cuz like totally ya!), and I could handle most of the techy/gamer news. And I'd have to recruit an entertainment person. Lots of work to do this weekend on this Noodle front... Change is coming!

Blurb

I am bored and more.

Forgiveth me, for I have neglected thee!

Ok so I haven't been the acting my best at this blog thing. I'll admit it. Lets accept this, and move along from it.

So whats been good (or bad, as I'll touch on in a bit...)? I've been feeling pretty good; gave blood last Thursday, and I think the lady wasn't really THAT experienced with the needle. Also, I've been attacked by some type of cold, but I'm gonna kill it. Oh yes. I am.

A few things I HAVE to mention:
- The killings of the four OPD cops. My thoughts are with their families. If it can hit ME at certain times of the day and I never even met these men, then I can only imagine what their kids mothers brothers sisters fathers wives and everyone else they actually ecountered in their lives are feeling about it. Their names were John Hege, Daniel Sakai, Ervin Romans, and Mark Dunakin.

- Natasha Richardson. Freaking scary how she died. To think that she stood up and was able to joke about the fall, and then be gone only three days later is terrifying. My thoughts are with her sister, mother, husband, kids and friends.

So followers, expose me to some new music now. I want something good; don't even think about pointing me to Lady Gaga.

I'm Not Dead!

Happy February!

Sad news... uh, my sister-in-law's dog transcended (I like this better than died, tbh) today. Doggies dying is always especially sad for me; I suppose its because they seem so clueless, happy, and simple.

In other sad, but certainly not as sad, news, the Sims 3 was delayed by 4 months (June 2nd).... 4 months.

Yea.... I'm mad.

"Life Is Eternal"

A short story...

...will be posted whenever I finish my homework... which as a matter of fact, I should have started two days ago.

I want to post something!

Is it wrong to post just for the sake of posting? I might have something better up my sleeve for a later post, but I wanted to type something now.

Uh huh. Thats right.

Final(ly)s

I've Finally Finished the Speech Final(ly)... it wasn't so bad, I must say... now i have to make this award thing... who is the lucky recipient of the much sought after Award of Awesomeness???? Find out tomorrow, after I present the thing, then come back here and post who... er.... won it... ok its not really something to be won, but c'mon.

Things that make you go "Hmm..."

So I just finished my outline for my speech class, and I gotta say, I picked a pretty big topic. No I don't mean like epic or anything; I mean the subject matter and all the information thats out there was like whoa. I didn't have a problem finding the info, but what I found was so interesting and attention-grabbing that it was hard to toss some of it away into the annals of this little harddrive.

Eating disorders have always fascinated, scared, and troubled me all at the same time. I know its a mental illness, but to see that most (all) insurance providers don't want to help with treatment is disgusting. To see these people (money-sharks, they be!) find every little loophole just to save little change, in their eyes (anyone's eyes, really; if they start treating them early on when some 'rents take their kids out of concern, they'd save bookoo amounts of money) is crazy sick... I dunno... just makes me think. Ugh.

Now I make my way to my bed and until 7AM, I will be DEAD TO THE WORLD!!! lol (thats a really good book, mind you... Congratulations, Anna Paquin, on your Golden Globe!)

Sunday, January 11, 2009

this is it.

So after many years of saying I should do it.... Okay its only been about a year, but still; after saying it for so long, I finally bit the bullet and made a little blog. Why did it take so long? Well who'd want to hear from lil' ol' me?! Me, thats who. Okay that made no sense, so moving right along...

Its about 1:41AM right now (well it IS 1:41, not about 1:41)... I think I'll just take this first post to state my mission for this little chunk of the heaven that is the internet(s). This will be my space; I'll post about a whole entire spectrum of things, from entertainment news (ONTD or DListed, anyone?), to cars, to technology, to music news, to news about this lady named Alicia Keys. And of course, I will share some familial tales, as I see fit.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride... BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE NUMBER 4, IN COLOR!!!
